Pirelli Announces the Introduction of its First Replacement Tire for Electric Vehicles in North America

Recently, Pirelli launched in North America its first replacement tire developed specifically for electric vehicles: the P Zero All Season Plus with Elect marking.

Tires are critical to the safety, performance and service life of electric vehicles. Pirelli brings multiple improvements to electric vehicles with this innovative tire. First and foremost is low rolling resistance. The new Pirelli tire has shown a reduction of 15% in rolling resistance, and a direct improvement in the driving range and the battery life of the vehicle. Second, the use of the electric vehicle tire with Elect technology can further reduce the noise inside the cabin by 5% and thereby improve comfort of drivers and passengers. Third, an immediate grip designed to bite into the asphalt instantly shortens the vehicle’s braking distance, and the tire also features a special structure designed to better support the battery pack.
