Syngenta Mary-Dell Chilton Graduate Scholarship Awards Ceremony Is Held

On February 15th, the 2022 Syngenta Mary-Dell Chilton Graduate Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Academic Forum was held at the Syngenta Innovation Center in Beijing. Sixteen outstanding graduates from prestige universities and research institutes including Tsinghua University, Huazhong Agricultural University, China Agricultural University, and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences were presented awards.

Syngenta Mary-Dell Chilton Graduate Scholarship was established in 2014 to encourage and support outstanding Chinese students to participate in plant science research and promote the development of agricultural research. The scholarship is awarded once a year and Syngenta Mary-Dell Chilton Graduate Scholarship Committee is responsible for its establishment, evaluation, issuance, and supervision. As of now, 409 outstanding students from 61 academic institutions and 246 laboratories across the country have won the scholarship.

Dr. Chilton is a senior scientist at Syngenta who has devoted her life to agricultural biotechnology research and has made tremendous contributions to increasing world food production with pioneering achievements in modern plant biotechnology. In 2013, Dr. Chilton won the World Food Prize, known as the “Nobel Prize” in the field of food and agriculture.
