Syngenta Group (HK) Holdings Company Limited signs $4.5 billion sustainability-linked loan

On Dec.?23, 2024, Syngenta Group (HK) Holdings Company Limited secured a $4.5 billion syndicated term loan facility with a consortium of banks from around the world. The loan?facility, which includes both three-year and five-year tranches and is tied to sustainability goals, received a positive response from the banking community. Over 40 banks oversubscribed the initial $3 billion amount by 2.6 times.

The financing achievement matches the company's previous record set in 2022 and stands as the largest loan facility of this?kind in Asia in 2024.

The funds raised will be used for refinancing and general corporate purposes, aligning with the two targets included in Syngenta's new sustainability priorities. Introduced in April 2024, the priorities emphasize sustainability as a core element of the company's strategy, showcasing its ongoing dedication to sustainable innovation and long-term value creation.
